Stripy Shark Footie for Newborns from Little Wonders

Does my child step upon the backs of narwhals or of sharks?

When I first saw this outfit, I thought that it looked very nautical. I also noticed that the feet appeared to be one-horned narwhals! This may be because one of her other outfits had one-horned unicorns.

However, the two sharks swimming at the breast of the baby who wears this outfit probably shows that the feet were meant to be sharks. With back fins.

I cannot be the only one who sees those narwhals.

Anyway, my child cannot appreciate the animal differences amongst her newborn outfits, nearly all of which are of the same basic design and thus strongly resemble each other, but she may one day know the difference between two animals. On that day, she will probably also comment on the similarity of these footie’s feet to one-horned narwhals—- unless she manages to see them as the back fins of sharks.

My mother bought this, amongst several other handsome Little Wonders outfits where the footies are animals for the feet of babies to rule over, for my baby to wear. While Young Sophie may not understand the differences amongst a shark and a narwhal and a unicorn, I believe she may be able to appreciate the familiarity of comfortable fabrics despite the unfamiliarity of what is outside.
