SiderAL Folic Iron Supplement

SiderAL, an iron supplement I had never heard of before this year, is the best-tasting iron supplement I have ever had. An immense positive is it does not have a very common side effect of constipation! That is an annoying side effect of iron pills that any woman who is on her period and takes iron supplements knows.

SiderAL iron supplements look and taste like water flavoring powder.

A serving of SiderAL comes in a small packet that look like powdered drink mix. The packet is simple to tear—- no scissors required!—- and the taste is a palatable though very sweet orange. It is much easier to swallow than a pill is.

You take SiderAL by letting the powder melt on the tongue. I was also advised by a nurse that I can mix the powder with water and drink it, but I did not try that. I did drink water separately every time I took it.

Compared to iron pills at ~US$0.03 each, SiderAL at ~US$1 per packet is considerably more expensive. It is made by a European company However, I personally feel that the lack of constipation and better taste may make it much more worthwhile.

Edit 2026-02-28: Wow. The official SiderAL website now sells it at ~US$2.50 per packet. not sure that is worth the money anymore.
